Windows 7 Transformation To Linux\ OS X Without Using Software

How to Make Windows 7 look like Linux/ OS X

Okay so this won't be exact but it will be close.

First off to create the "Panel" look that Linux and OS X has you will want to move your taskbar to the top of your screen. This is simply done by right clicking on your taskbar and clicking Properties. Then changing the location to top as show in the image below

Dock
The Dock, this part is easy you will want to download any dock program but for the purpose of this tutorial I will be using ObjectDock. By clicking here (ObjectDock page) you will go to the product page. I am not linking you to any warez copy as I'm sure we are all smart enough to find them on our own.

You can also use Nexus Dock if you prefer the download link for which can be found Here.

Window Pager

Now we have the pager. For those that don't know this is the multipage setting on Linux that allows you to have multiple desktops on one machine without the extra hardware. For this you will need Windows PagerThis is freeware and clean you can run it through your AV yourself it you are nervous. Now as this is not an install program you will need to copy and paste it into your start up folder. After pasting it there you can double click it to run it and then it will run whenever you start up.

Window Shading
Now we will do windows shading. This makes the windows "disappear" in reality they just roll up into the top bar of the window by right clicking. To do this you can use a program called Window Roll Same process as with Windows Pager just drop the .exe into your start up then double click to run. This one has a .dll file which will need to be placed in the systems folder to allow the program to run.

The final step Auto Raise. Fortunately you do not have to install a third-party software for this feature. Instead do the following click Start and in the search bar type "Change how" without the quotes. In the results click Change how the mouse works. In the pop up window select “Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse”.

Now when you hover your mouse over a window it will automatically raise to the front gaining focus.

Once completed you will have something along the lines of the image below.

Enjoy :)
